McDaniel: This was fun

Tonight was a lot of fun.

We were hanging around and we finally put that final drive together that allowed us to tie it up. Then that momentum switched and we got the field goal to win it.

On the touchdown, I made sure I looked it in all the way because if you’ve got one eye off the ball, that pass would have been incomplete and it might have been game over.

On the two-point convert, it was a good play call. Curtis Walls rubbed my guy off and I just set him up and Sinopoli put it right there and it was two points, tie game.

I enjoyed all the quarterbacks we used tonight. I was here with Sinopoli on the practice squad last year, so him and me have a good feel. I’ve played with Kevin before, so me and him and me have a good feel. Even Bo, it’s just a good feel with all the quarterbacks, we all know where we are meant to be.

I think it helped me a lot to finish the season with the Stamps on the practice squad last year. I got here, got comfortable with the guys, the coaches and the system, so when I came back to camp this year I was real comfortable with the system and that’s when you play your best your — not thinking as you’re going. Things just come natural.  Coming in those last nine weeks has been a big help so far this season.

As for as tonight goes, you just want to make sure you know what you’re doing. It’s about playing hard, executing, reading the defences, adjusting, just being on the same page but mainly knowing your assignments and executing.

And the win means a lot, especially how we won. Like coach said, training camp has been tough but we still pulled it out.

Maybe it was that hard work we put in through camp so far. But to pull it out at the end like we did and to go for that two-point conversion to tie and kick the field goal to win, it doesn’t get any better than that.
