Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import defensive lineman Renard Williams has signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Williams played four seasons for the Eastern Washington Eagles (2008-11) and was named to the Big Sky all-conference team in both 2009 and 2010. For his career, he played 48 games and made 37 starts. He recorded 139 tackles, including 52 tackles for loss, 22.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His best statistical season came in 2010 when he made 54 tackles, including 16 tackles for loss, and recorded 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
