Talley signs contract extension

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import receiver Landan Talley has signed a contract extension. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Talley, who is going into his third CFL season, is coming off a breakthrough year in TalleySt_120327.jpg2011 in which he started seven games. Talley recorded 19 receptions for 317 yards and three touchdowns and also contributed on special teams with eight kickoff returns for 239 yards. Talley’s biggest play of 2011 came on an 81-yard touchdown reception against the BC Lions.

“Landan became a more important part of our offence in 2011 and we expect that to continue in the upcoming season,” said Hufnagel. “He has breakaway speed and that was evident in the play against the Lions.”

Talley has played 10 regular-season games and one playoff contest for the Stamps over two seasons. He originally signed with the Stamps as a free agent in May 2010. Talley attended Lambuth University for two seasons and, in 2008, amassed 1,772 all-purpose yards for the Eagles including 1,133 yards and 20 touchdowns on 70 receptions.
