Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import linebacker Danny Lansanah and import quarterback Cam Sexton have signed with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Lansanah signed with the NFL’s Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on Apr. 27, 2008, and played five games for the Packers that season. He attended Green Bay’s training camp in 2009 and spent time that season on the practice rosters of the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. He signed with the United Football League’s Hartford Colonials in 2010 and, in August 2011, Lansanah was selected by the Las Vegas Locomotives in the UFL supplemental draft. Lansanah played four seasons at the University of Connecticut and was an all-Big East first-team selection as a senior in 2007.
Sexton signed with the Stampeders during Week 15 of the 2011 season and spent two weeks on the club’s practice roster. Sexton was a University of North Carolina Tar Heel for three seasons and threw for 2,110 yards, 13 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. His best season came as a junior in 2008 when he tossed for 1,261 yards and nine touchdowns. Sexton’s final season of college eligibility was spent at Catawba College in North Carolina in 2009.
