Coker is going into his second CFL season after playing five regular-season games and the West Division semifinal for the Stamps in 2011. Coker averaged 9.8 yards per carry as a rookie for the Stamps as he recorded 234 rushing yards and one touchdown on 24 carries including a memorable 75-yard touchdown run during the Scotiabank Touchdown Atlantic on Sept. 25 against Hamilton. He also had five catches for 31 yards and 10 kickoff returns for 182 yards.

“Stamps fans got a good glimpse of how exciting of a player LaMarcus can be,” said Hufnagel. “There aren’t many running backs with his kind of speed. It’s great that he’ll be back at camp in June.”

Coker played two seasons at the University of Tennessee before transferring to Hampton University for two seasons with the Pirates. As a senior at Hampton in 2009, Coker led the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with 93.4 rushing yards per game. He ran for 1,027 yards on 197 carries and had six touchdowns.

Coker was a finalist for Tennessee’s Mr. Football title in 2003 after earning all-state honours at Antioch High School.
