Statement from Calgary Stampeders president/COO Lyle Bauer on the death of Cal Murphy. Bauer played for Murphy with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the two men won three Grey Cups together.
“It is with great sadness to learn of the loss of Cal Murphy. His legacy extends into so many areas. A true CFL legend, Cal was the first Canadian GM/HC to attain great success and laid the foundation for those who have followed.
“He will be missed. However, the influence he had on others will continue for decades.”
