Defensive linemen added to roster

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of import defensive linemen Cody Brown and Chase Vaughn. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Brown spent four seasons with the University of Connecticut Huskies. He was a unanimous all-Big East team selection in 2008 after his senior season in which he recorded 55 tackles, including 15.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. For his career with the Huskies, Brown had 148 tackles and 22 sacks in 42 games.

Vaughn attended tryouts with the United Football League’s Las Vegas Locomotives in 2010 before joining the Colorado Ice of the Indoor Football League. He re-signed with Las Vegas in May 2011. Vaughn played two seasons at Colorado State University-Pueblo and earned first-team all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honours both years.
