Play of Year Showdown: Group D

It’s three semifinalists down and one to go in the Stampeders Play of the Year Showdown.

Prevailing in the fan vote for Group C was Nik Lewis’ good-natured mocking of former teammate Dwight Anderson during the Stampeders-Alouettes game at McMahon Stadium. That play joins Larry Taylor’s missed-field goal return for touchdown at BC Place and a Lewis touchdown catch-and-run in the semifinals, which begin next week.

Now it’s time to pick the fourth and final semifinalist as we ask Stamps fans to review the candidates in Group D.

This week’s nominees include a spectacular Romby Bryant catch against the Montreal Alouettes, Lewis answering a Hail Mary prayer pass by Henry Burris, a Charleston Hughes fumble recovery and return for touchdown and a remarkable sequence in which Johnny Forzani, in his first game since the accidental death of a friend, scored the first two touchdowns of his CFL career.
