Play of Year Showdown: Group C

The votes are in and we have our second semifinalist in the Stampeders’ Play of the Year Showdown.

Attracting almost half the votes cast, Larry Taylor’s missed-field goal return for touchdown at BC Place beat out three other contenders to win the Group B preliminary round and join Group A winner Nik Lewis’ touchdown catch-and-run in the semifinals, which begin Jan. 31.

Now it’s time to pick the next semifinalist as we ask Stamps fans to review the candidates in Group C.

This week’s nominees include some more Lewis action as this time the slotback has some fun with former teammate Dwight Anderson after making a catch against the Alouettes. Also in contention this week are Keon Raymond’s historic 117-yard interception return, which set a franchise record, Jon Cornish’s fancy moves on the way to a touchdown against the Saskatchewan Roughriders and some nimble work in the pocket by Drew Tate to avoid a sack and deliver a touchdown pass, also against the Riders.
