Simpson led all players with 10 tackles as the Stamps defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 30-24 on Saturday afternoon at McMahon Stadium. Simpson was an integral part of a Calgary defence that limited Winnipeg to just seven points in the second half to seal a narrow Stamps win.

The Stamps finished the 2011 regular season with 10 player-of-the-week awards. Johnny Forzani was top Canadian in Week 18, Jon Cornish was top Canadian in Week 16 and was the offensive player of the week and top Canadian in Week 14. In Week 9, Henry Burris was named top offensive player while Forzani was top Canadian.

Kicker Rene Paredes and kick returner Larry Taylor were named the league’s top special teams player in Weeks 2 and 6, respectively, while Jabari Arthur was voted top Canadian in Week 7.
