Insider: Regular-season finale

The Stampeders look to keep their hopes alive for a home playoff game today as they take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at McMahon Stadium. Kickoff for the regular-season finale is at 2 p.m.

The Stamps need a win and a loss by the BC Lions against Montreal this evening to lock up second place in the West Division. That means Calgary would entertain the Leos in the West semifinal on Sunday, Nov. 13.h2hWpg.jpg

If both Calgary and BC win today, that means the Stamps would travel to Edmonton for the West semi. Matching losses by Calgary and BC, meanwhile, would mean a Stamps-Lions semifinal matchup next week in Vancouver.

The Blue Bombers’ playoff plans also ride on today’s action. A Winnipeg win would assure the Bombers of first place in East and a bye to the division final. On the other hand, a Bombers loss combined with an Alouettes win at BC would give Montreal first place and force Winnipeg to face Hamilton in the East semifinal.

The Stamps and Bombers met in Week 3 at Winnipeg’s Canad Inns Stadium, with Calgary pulling out a 21-20 victory,

Also, AM 770 has the call on radio with Mark Stephen and Greg Peterson. This is a big year for the Stampeders’ radio partners as QR77 celebrates its 20th season of bringing the Red and White to the listening audience. The game will also be telecast on TSN (subject to local blackout).
