The Stampeders face a must-win situation in Montreal today if Calgary is to play host to a 2011 West Division playoff game.
A Stamps win would create a three-way tie at the top of the division with the Lions and Eskimos and would keep the Red and White’s hopes for first or second place alive. A loss, on the other hand, would lock Calgary into third place and would force the Stamps to travel to either Vancouver or Edmonton for the West semi-final.
Kickoff at Montreal’s Percival Molson Stadium is at 11 a.m. MDT.
The Alouettes also have plenty on the line today as they are battling the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for first place in the East and a bye to the division final. Incredibly, a Calgary win would leave a combined total of five teams tied for first place in the two divisions, all of them with 10-7 records.
Calgary and Montreal have met once before this season — the Stamps claimed a 38-31 victory over the Larks on Aug. 27 at McMahon Stadium.
