The New Westminster, B.C., product also had two receptions for 31 yards. For the season, Cornish now has 662 yards on 83 carries and at eight yards per rush, he leads all CFL players with at least 50 rushes.

This is the third player-of-the week honour for Cornish in 2011 as he was voted the league’s top Canadian as well as offensive player in Week 14. In addition, he was named the top Canadian for the month of September.

The Stamps have won five other player-of-the-week awards in 2011. In Week 9, Henry Burris was named top offensive player while Johnny Forzani was top Canadian. Kicker Rene Paredes and kick returner Larry Taylor were named the league’s top special teams player in Weeks 2 and 6, respectively, while Jabari Arthur was voted top Canadian in Week 7.
