Stamps add four to practice roster

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel announced today that four players have been added to the team’s practice roster.

Import defensive lineman Demonte’ Bolden spent 2009 and 2010 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, collecting 60 tackles, three sacks and two fumble recoveries.

Import defensive back Quincy Butler has spent time with a number of NFL teams since 2006, the most recent being a stint this season with the New Orleans Saints. He previously spent time with the Stamps in 2008 as a member of the practice roster.

Non-import offensive lineman Joe McGrath was originally taken by the Stampeders in the 2003 CFL Canadian Draft and spent time on the team’s practice roster in 2004. He has spent the last eight seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, Saskatchewan Roughriders and BC Lions.

Non-import linebacker Jason Nugent is with his third CFL team, having played in Edmonton and Winnipeg. Nugent played in the 2007 Grey Cup with the Blue Bombers and established a Grey Cup record with five special-teams tackles.

The Stamps have also released import defensive lineman Sam Scott.
