Tate: A matter of making plays

The difference for us in the second half tonight is that we made plays. That’s all there was to it.

Just take a look at the great play by Johnny Forzani in the end-zone went he up and got the ball to give us a touchdown. That’s what I mean by making plays.Tate_111014.jpg

We were down by, what was it? It doesn’t matter how much we were down by at the time because I knew we were going to come back. The defence did a great job — they were pitching a shutout for almost all of the second half until the very end. You’ve got to give them credit for holding us in there and letting our offence go out there and get some points up on the board.

Even though we lost, that second half is something we can build off going into the future.

Maybe the media will be asking a lot of questions in the week ahead, but I can’t get concerned about any of that. We’ve got three games left and all I know is that we’ve got to out there and do everything we can to win them.

Even worse than the loss tonight is what happened to J’Micheal Deane. I think it might have even been me who rolled up on his leg when he got hurt. That’s just an awful thing to see and there’s no way to describe how you feel when that happens.

Right away, I said a prayer for him because . . . that’s just such a hard thing. I really feel bad for him and I just want him to get better and come back.
