The Calgary Stampeders have announced a long-term plan to support Calgary’s amateur football programs – namely, the University of Calgary Dinos and Calgary Colts.
The Stampeders, Dinos and Colts have entered into a new partnership that will see the Dinos and Colts benefit financially from the success of the Stamps.

“The strength of amateur football is paramount to the development and talent pool for the Stampeders and the CFL,” said Lyle Bauer, president and COO of the Stampeders. “This funding agreement sees the Stampeders invest in the future development of football players as athletes, community citizens and corporate leaders.”
Bauer made the announcement during a press conference in which the Stamps launched their 2012 season ticket drive. Fans who buy 2012 Stamps season tickets will also get a season seat for the Dinos and Colts, an example of the partnership between the teams.
“We’d encourage everyone to use those tickets and see some great football,” said Bauer.
“We all know that the Stampeders get community engagement,” said Ron Wuotila, the Dinos’ Director of Athletics and Recreation. “And this is just another example of the forward thinking that takes place here with the Calgary Stampeder Football Club. We’re thrilled to be a part of it.”
“On behalf of the Calgary Colts Junior Football Association — the directors, the staff, the coaches and players, we are very, very grateful,” said Colts general manager Keith Evans. “Today’s annoucement is just another example of the tremendous level of support we have been privileged to experience.”
The Stamps currently have four players with ties to the Dinos or Colts. Offensive lineman Tim O’Neill and receiver Anthony Parker are graduates of the Dinos program while receiver Johnny Forzani and offensive lineman Spencer Wilson played with the Colts.
Current Dinos in attendance at Wednesday’s announcement were Chudi Nzekwu and Doctor Cassama while the Dinos were represented by Prince Baffoh and Jase Skelton.
