Five added to practice roster

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel announced today that five players have been added to the team’s practice roster.
 
Wide receiver Joe Horn signed with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts on July 29 but was released on Aug. 28. He played four seasons at Ashland University and was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second all-star team in each of his last three seasons. He had 170 career receptions, 2,681 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns at Ashland.
 
Quarterback Dwight Dasher spent four seasons at Middle Tennessee State, throwing for 5,481 yards and rushing for 2,329 yards. In 2009, Dasher became just the fourth player in NCAA history to throw for more than 2,500 yards and rush for more than 1,000 yards in a single season.
 
Linebacker De’von Hall spent the 2010 season with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He signed with Carolina in July. Hall spent four seasons with the Utah State Aggies and collected 253 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions and four fumble recoveries.
 
Defensive lineman Chris McCoy played four seasons at Middle Tennessee State, collection 64 tackles, including 20 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick. He was named honourable mention All-American by SI.com in 2009.
 
Defensive lineman Brandon Sharpe attended training camp with the Arizona Cardinals in 2011. He played three seasons at Texas Tech and was named to the all-Big 12 first team in 2009 after collecting 36 tackles and a school-record 15 sacks in 12 games. Sharpe also played one season at Fresno City College.
