Coker: Need to work the kinks out

We had the good start today but then the Tiger-Cats just started it pouring it on. Before we knew it, we were in a serious dogfight and I think fatigue got the best of us.

They just kept pouring it on and pouring it on. We made a couple of mental errors and we just have to go back to the drawing board, work those kinks out and get ready for next week.110925_Coker.jpg

I think this is the time guys are going to start stepping up, whether it’s the leaders we’ve always had or new leaders. The guys who want it the most are going to come to forefront and everyone else will follow.

For me, playing my first game, I think I could have played better. I was a little bit anxious and I got a little bit too excited. I think I played a decent game, but not my best game. Nowhere close to my best game.

I definitely think I can play better and I need to prepare better this week because a game is obviously different than practice. I got a full-body cramp early in the fourth quarter and it kept me off the field, so I’ve got to take better care of my body, drink more fluids and be ready.

My 75-yard run for a touchdown is at least something to build on. That was beautiful — my first carry as a professional athlete and to take it the distance, that’s something that you dream about. I just wish we could have got the win.
