The past and the present will both be prominent features of today’s CFL contest between the Calgary Stampeders and the BC Lions.
Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 5 p.m. MDT.
As far as the past is concerned, seven of the game greats will be honoured as the 2011 Canadian Football Hall of Fame ceremonies conclude. Ex-Stamps Terry Vaughn and Danny McManus along with Don Matthews, Joe Montford, Ken Lehmann, Chris Flynn and and the late Gino Fracas are this year’s inductees.
As far as the here and now is concerned, the Stamps are looking to regain sole possession of first place in the West while the Lions are bidding for a fourth consecutive victory.
The clubs have met once before in 2011, with the Stamps picking up a 34-32 victory at Vancouver’s Empire Field on July 8.
Join us starting at 2 p.m. for the pre-game Fun Zone, which will take place across from the Ticket Office at the southeast corner of the stadium. A special attraction today will be an autograph table from 2-3 p.m. featuring this year’s Hall of Fame inductees.

Also, AM 770 has the call on radio with Mark Stephen and Greg Peterson. This is a big year for the Stampeders’ radio partners as QR77 celebrates its 20th season of bringing the Red and White to the listening audience. The game will also be telecast on TSN (subject to local blackout).
