McCune: This hurts to my heart

The only thing I can say is we had a lot of mistakes out there on the field. We just have to come out and play the type of football we know how to play.

I don’t think Stampeders football is what was played today. We have to come back. We have a short week. We’re not going to have physical practices. We just have to have our minds right as we go to Edmonton, just go up there . . . we can’t have another game like that.McCune_110905.jpg

I’m not worried about going to their house. It’s just on us. We have won games on the road before and we know what it takes. We just have to be mentally ready and physically ready and we have to play the type of football we know how to play.

No matter where their offence starts a drive, we at least have to keep them to a field goal. We have to play hard-nosed football. It’s going to happen that you’re in a hole and we have to be prepared to play hard-nosed football and at least keep them to a field goal.

Overall, we’re 6-3 at the midway point of the season and I think we’re going to be OK. We have great leadership on this team. We’ve got great guys on this team and they know how to win football games.

We have to make a decision within ourselves, each one of us, we have to play great football. Nobody is going to give us a win.

This was a great learning lesson for the team. We have been winning the last couple of games and this was a great lesson to humble ourselves.

We have to remember this game and remember how we felt after the game. I know I was hurt . . . it hurt me to my heart. I’m looking forward to playing them again on Friday.
