The Alouettes are a league-best 43-18 since the start of the 2008 campaign and are two-time defending Grey Cup champions. The Larks, who have finished first in the East in each of the past three seasons, do find themselves in an unfamiliar position — second place — thanks to Winnipeg’s 6-1 start.
The Stamps, meanwhile, are 41-19-1 since the start of ’08 and are looking to take over sole possession of first place in the West. The Edmonton Eskimos are 5-3 and are on a bye in Week 9.
Calgary and Montreal split the 2010 season series with each club winning on home field. It’s been a tight series over the years with the Alouettes holding a slim 31-30-1 advantage since the teams’ first meeting in 1961.
