Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import receiver Donovan Morgan and import defensive back Brent Vinson have been added to the team’s practice roster.
Morgan most recently played for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League. Morgan went to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and was then signed by the NFL’s New York Jets. He was in the NFL between 2004 and 2006, spending time with the Jets, Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. Morgan also played in af2. Morgan had the honour of being named rookie of the year in both the AFL and af2.
Vinson spent his college career at North Alabama and Tennessee. He recorded 20 tackles, including two tackles for loss, six pass breakups and three interceptions in 10 games for the North Alabama Lions in his senior season in 2010.
In addition, non-import offensive lineman John Bender is officially back with the team and has also been placed on the practice roster.
The Stamps also announced that non-import receiver Steven Turner, non-import defensive lineman Shawn Mayne and import defensive back Darrick Brown have been released.
