Raymond: You’ve got to make plays

Man, it feels good.

That interception return was a long run. Its one of those things where, you don’t realize just how long this field is until you run it. You never run the length of it. I was so tired at the end. And my teammates didn’t help me out by jumping on me in the end-zone!

I didn’t want to get up. I needed oxygen after that one. Raymond_110720.jpg

I said when I re-signed here that I wanted my name to be up on that wall at McMahon Stadium. I figured making historic returns like that will help me get a jump on that goal!

In those situations, you got to be out there making plays. I was winded, my heart was racing. I just sat down, gathered myself and had to be ready to go out there again. When you are tired, you lose focus.

The offence did a great job, They moved the ball when we needed it. Our offence was able to move the ball, get us some rest when needed it and then get key first downs at the end of the game to close it out.

That win showed our character — the character of this team.

We’re a three-phase team — offence, defence and special-teams. We proved we can take a team’s best punches on defence and offence, handle an urgent situation like that. This is a hostile place. To get two wins here in three weeks says a lot about our team and the direction we are going.
