Fraser: A big night for us

It’s good to finally get on the board with that first interception.

I’ve been close to a few and to finally get one in my hands there. It was my first one and I didn’t even want to give the ball to the equipment managers but they stole it away from me.

As for what the defence did in the second half, I mean, it was just the same stuff. Fraser_110806.jpgWe came in here and we knew man to man we weren’t really holding our gaps in the run and we weren’t locking it down on the edge like we usually do, and so we just refocused at halftime, came out, it was the same game plan and we just executed it better.

It’s nice to win at home but I don’t think it’s a big psychological hurdle or anything like that. I don’t think guys were feeling uptight about not winning at home. But you always want to win in front of the home crowd, you want to defend your turf, and we did that tonight, so going forward it’s a big thing, I guess.

I think our special teams played really good tonight, with the dynamic returner they’ve got over there, Thigpen, I think we did a good job of keeping him in check, not letting him get out at all. That was a big thing for me. I play a big role on special teams so I felt that was probably one of the things we did really well tonight.

On the other side, that one big punt return for us by Larry Taylor sparked us a little bit. So it’s always big. We always want to get him out, he’s a dynamic returner and we know that we’ve just got to work hard for him and he’ll do the rest of the work.

We’re done a third of the season now and I feel pretty good, but you’ve just got to keep building. Last year, we were really good at this point and we didn’t end up the way we wanted to. So it’s all about keep getting better, keep practising hard and build for a championship, hopefully.
