Parker: A night of firsts

Every time you can do something a little bit more – whether it’s making a catch, making a play, making a tackle – it boosts your confidence.

I got into the game and kind of got thrown into the fire because of Landan Talley’s injury. I was just doing my job. Hank threw me the ball and I was able to get my first catch and a couple of extra yards.Parker_110806.jpg

It’s awesome to get that first win at McMahon Stadium. We had a tough stretch at home but I think we’re on the right track now. We have a couple of wins in a row under our belts and we’re going to build on this.

We had a strong second half tonight and we have been doing that all year. But one of the differences tonight was we came out early, scored early and made a statement that we’re here to play. And that carried on throughout the game.

Everyone in this room is really happy with how things went and rightfully so. We came out and pulled off a big win against another very good football team. We’re happy to come out with the win and we can start looking ahead to the game in Saskatchewan next week.

We have the starting guys who will go out there and do the job. Rambo was out tonight and Landan came in and did a great job. And then, unfortunately, he went down, and I was able to come in and just do what they have asked me to do. It shows the depth we have and it shows that, no matter who is in there, we’re going to do all right.
