Hughes: Sacks a reason to celebrate

I’ve been asked a lot about having a new sack celebration and all I can say is we’re still trying to pick one out. Still trying to put one together.

I haven’t figured one out yet. So every time I get a sack, I stand up thinking “OK, now what do I do?” I’m still waiting on a fan or anybody to give me a suggestion of what I should do. So far, I haven’t seen anything that’s different or that I like yet but I’m still taking suggestions under consideration.

I don’t want anything like what DeVone Claybrooks does when he rubs his stomach after a sack. I do not want to see that horrendous, nasty . . . I don’t want to see that dance.Hughes_110802.jpg

Speaking of sacks, it was nice to get to the quarterback three times in our last game. We did what most teams can’t do and that’s bring Durant down to the ground. We did that just by working as a D-line and as a defence. That’s pretty much what we set out to do is to get him down.

He’s not used to being just a drop-back passer and we put him a little bit out of his comfort zone.

It feels real good to win in that stadium. They’ve got a lot of fan support. Usually, their fans geek me up. When they’re cheering for the their team, I just look at them and think, Oh yeah, they’re cheering for me, too.”

The season has been unusual so far with us being 0-2 at home and 3-0 on the road but that’s just the way it’s been. There’s nothing special to it. All I can say is it just happens to me what we’re doing right now. If that means winning on the road, then we’re winning on the road. I’d prefer us winning at home AND on the road, but we’ll take the wins wherever they come.
