It can be a real rush kicking in a game in a place like Mosaic Stadium.
With the noise and the fans the way they are, it’s great. The fans are fun. I heard only some of the stuff yelled at me.
It isn’t so bad — it’s kind of fun because you can’t take any of it personally. So it all just goes to help me focus.
That field goal at the end of the first half was a big kick. Saskatchewan tried to ice me at the end of the first half by calling a timeout but I was in a bit of a rush at the time, so it actually helped me out. It gave me an extra second to relax.
I never really struggled with my confidence during the game. It is a great atmosphere, one you want to kick in. I love it.
The way the season is going, I don’t seem to be getting many short field-goal chances so far. It seems like everything is 40-something. I keep practising them but I don’t ever seem to get to kick them.
The way I approach it though is that no two kicks are really ever the same, but if you treat them like they are the same, you get a consistent approach. You don’t feel the pressure. You just kick it the right way.
The family back home stayed up to watch. It’s late there but I have to give them a call now and chat about it. It was a great win.
Like I said, it is tough in here. It is tough to win here. It is a crazy atmosphere but we knew a win gave us second place.
