Fassitt: We know we’re a good team

We’re disappointed, of course, with Saturday’s game. Very disappointed.

We’re a good football team with a lot of talent and good coaches and we know what to do. We just fell short. It’s disappointing because we know we’re a good football team.Fassitt_110725.jpg

I felt like we did a pretty solid job against their offence. We matched their intensity. We knew some of the things they were going to do and we had ourselves in good position to make plays. They got us with a couple of cheap ones over the top but outside of that I thought we played a very solid game on defence.

We know we have to eliminate those big plays and make sure we do everything we can to win the football game.

Whenever we give a team to build confidence against us, they’re able to stay in the game. We are a team that can finish — we’ve shown that. We didn’t get that done on Saturday but most definitely, we are a strong character team. We’re going to fight through and we’re going to push through to win those close games if need be. But if we’re clicking, the game won’t be close.

I was able to get my first CFL interception on Saturday and, glory to God, it felt good. It was a big play in the game at that point in time and we were trying to give the offence an opportunity to score. But we’ve got to make more plays on defence if need be to win a football game. We have to do whatever it takes.
