Reynolds: Hats off to the defence

First of all, we have to give a huge shout out to the defence.

The defence played great football — held them at key times and forced their quarterback out of the game. Keon made some great plays. The defence carried us tonight.

I said to Nik at one point, as poor as we have played, look at the scoreboard. The defence just stuck with it and kept us in it. I knew we had a great chance to win.Reynolds_110621.jpg

Offensively, though, we were inconsistent for another week. We all feel like we left a few too many plays out there. To get this victory is huge because we’re not at all satisfied with the way we played.

That said, you always have to get road wins in this league. You go into someone else’s house, I don’t care who it is, you need to get a win. Especially early in a season when every team’s confidence is flying high form training camp, you want to maintain yours or weaken theirs.

There is no easier way to accomplish that then wins on the road. And so obviously, with Winnipeg being 2-0, they were playing for something. We needed that.

We have so many guys with character. It is great to play on a team with so many veteran guys who know how to make a play when the opportunity arises. Like I said though, on offence we are aiming to use these next nine days to make some corrections and get better as a team.

It’s always good to win when you play poor football. Offensively, we have to catch up to them. If we can get the two sides on the same speed, we’ll be a tough matchup.
