It was a tough loss, but I’d like to be optimistic and chalk it up to it being early in the year. First game of the season.
Consistency would be our problem tonight.
We definitely have the tools and we have the team and we can get it done, we just need to be more consistent.
We were able to get the ball moving in the fourth quarter but you can’t be that encouraged. I mean, it’s really disappointing, it’s kind of cliche to say that all you want is to win. But really, when we put ourselves in the position to win in the fourth, it really does break your heart when it just slips through your fingers at the last second.
As good as other stuff could have felt, it’s kind of lost in the end.
We do have to say that the defence did a great job. I think special teams, we were very good in the return game, cover teams, we had guys flying around. Jon Cornish was making hits out there.
We just need to be more consistent on the offensive side of the ball. But the defence played very well. Definitely some very positive things to take out of the game.
I don’t want to speak for Rob Maver, but I know he’s not feeling 100 per cent. He’s my boy and everybody in here has got his back and nobody’s going to be second-guessing him. We’re with Rob all the way.
