Stamps announce guest coaches

Ryan Locke, Ed Philion and James Stanley will serve as guest coaches during the Calgary Stampeders’ upcoming training camp.

Locke spent the last three seasons at the University of West Georgia, helping with the Wolves’ offence. In 2007, he was a graduate assistant at Alabama-Birmingham and Locke spent the previous three seasons on the staff of his alma mater, Troy, where he was a student assistant.

Philion played eight seasons in the CFL, all with the Montreal Alouettes. Philion, who retired in 2007, was a CFL all-star three times (2003-05) and helped the Als win the Grey Cup in 2002. After his playing career, Philion joined the broadcast team at CJAD, the voice of the Alouettes.

Stanley has worked with several professional football organizations, including the NFL’s Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions. From 2007-10, Stanley was defensive backs coach at the University of Dayton. Stanley was a defensive back at the University of Toledo from 1997-2002 and played professionally in the National Indoor Football League, Arena Football League, Arena 2 Football League and Atlantic Indoor Football League.

Stamps rookie camp will be held Thursday and Friday and main camp opens on Sunday at McMahon Stadium.
