The Calgary Stampeders have selected University of Calgary Dinos receiver Anthony Parker with the third overall selection in Sunday’s CFL Canadian Draft.
Parker is a six-foot, 200-pound wide receiver who earned his second-straight Canada West all-star selection in 2010 despite playing in only five of eight conference games. Parker was the Western Canada representative in the East-West Shrine Game at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
The Stampeders acquired the third pick from the BC Lions in a Sunday trade. Calgary also receives the 26th and 34th picks.
In return, the Lions receive the sixth, 11th and 37th overall selections in this year’s draft.
The trade means the Stampeders have the following 2011 draft picks: third, ninth, 14th, 26th, 29th, 34th and 45th.
