Hike for a Hospice is a hit

For a fifth consecutive year, the Calgary Stampeders were proud to partner with Hospice Calgary for the annual Hike for Hospice.Cote_110503.jpg

Stamps player representative Rob Cote hosted the Hike for the fourth time on May 1 at Fish Creek Park — Glennfield Area A. He was joined by Hospice ambassadors Jennifer and Rylan Monaghan, teammates Tim O’Neill and Jon Cornish, as well as receivers coach Pete Costanza, the Calgary Stampeders Outriders and Ralph the Dog.

“It’s just amazing to see how much the Hike has grown. I’m amazed by the swell of support,” said Cote, “I am so proud to have been here and felt like a part of something that impacts so many people in such a positive manner.”

With over 500 hikers and more than $75,000 raised, the Hike has grown by leaps and bounds. The Calgary Stampeders have been involved with Hospice Calgary since 2007.

The 5K walk or 10K fun-run raises funds to support individuals and families whose lives are transformed by a life-threatening illness or the death of someone close to them.
