Calgary Stampeders fullback Rob Cote will lead the sixth annual Hike for Hospice Calgary this Sunday, May 1 at Fish Creek Park — Glennfield Area A.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the start of the Hike at 10:30 a.m. Cote will be joined by teammates Tim O’Neill, who returns for his third year in the Hike, and Jon Cornish, as well as receivers coach Pete Costanza, members of the Stampeder Outriders and team mascot Ralph the Dog.
“This is a great event that not only raises important funds and awareness for Hospice Calgary but also provides a perfect opportunity for participants to remember and honour lost loved ones,” said Cote. “My family and I will be walking and we invite all Calgarians to join us this weekend. It’s always a great time for a great cause.”
Cote is hosting his fourth consecutive Hike. He continues to be the club’s representative with Hospice Calgary, working actively with the organization year-round. The Stampeders have been involved with Hospice Calgary since 2007.
The 5K walk or 10K fun-run raises funds to support individuals and families whose lives are transformed by a life-threatening illness or the death of someone close to them.
