The 2010 season was very rewarding for me. To be able to bounce back from a season like 2009, when I was feeling pretty good in camp and then went down with a knee injury that cost me the whole season, felt really good.
Some people had some doubts that I would be able to come back. Even myself, when I was training in the off-season, I had some doubts and I was concerned that I wasn’t going to be back to normal. It was a real challenge being able to withstand the physical aspect, and you also have to be able to overcome the mental aspect, which was probably the hardest thing.
It was good to return and have what I feel was a pretty good year. I was able to get the first interceptions of my career, so that was a plus. Now I just plan on building on this for next year.
The only thing is that it sucks because of the way the season ended. We had so many good things going for us and to just have it end the way it did, nobody was expecting that.
Even if I think I had a pretty good year, we’re disappointed about the way it ended in the Western final and I wish I could have done more to help us win that game.
We won’t be able to get over it until the season starts next year. And even after the season starts, we won’t be able to completely get over it until playoff time next season.
If we get a chance to play Saskatchewan in the final again and if we can come up with a victory this time, then we can forget about it. Until then, we’ll always remember how this season ended. It sticks with you throughout the year and provides motivation for the next season.
