Long-time Stampeders executive Stan Schwartz was officially added to the list of Medicine Hat Sports Wall honourees on Thursday, Dec. 9.
Schwartz, who has served as a Stampeders coach and president since joining the Stampeders in 1976 and currently serves as the football club’s executive vice-president/consultant to the executive committee, was honoured along with Lovell McDonnell, one of the leading figures in Medicine Hat baseball for the past four decades.
Schwartz, who grew up near Medicine Hat and competed in baseball, football, track and field and hockey in the Gas City, has committed his life work to local, provincial and national sports communities as an athlete, coach, sports administrator and sports builder.
