Five members of the Calgary Stampeders have been named to the Canadian Football League Players’ Association 2010 all-star team.

Offensive tackle Ben Archibald, receiver Romby Bryant, cornerbacks Brandon Browner and Dwight Anderson as well as punter Burke Dales were all selected to the team in a vote of CFL players and positional coaches.

Archibald led an offensive line that paved the way for the league’s most proficient running game and has provided excellent protection for the league’s second-ranked passing attack. The Stamps led the league in rushing yards per game (145.4), rushing first downs (162) and allowed the second-fewest sacks (30).

Bryant led the CFL with 15 receiving touchdowns, three more than his closest pursuer. He had 78 receptions for 1,170 yards.

Anderson shared the team lead with five interceptions (a career high) and led the squad with two picks returned for scores. Anderson established a Stampeders’ single-season record with 246 interception-return yards to lead the CFL. He added 45 tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered one.

Browner tied for the club lead with five interceptions, a career high. He notched 51 tackles, forced one fumble and blocked a field goal. With nine pass knockdowns, Browner earned at least a share of the team lead in that category for the second season.

Dales punted 118 times for 5,371 yards and led all CFL punters with a 45.5-yard per punt average. He ranked third in the league with a 35.5-yard net average and posted seven games with a net average above 40.0 yards per kick.
