For the second time in as many weeks, the Calgary Stampeders have matched a franchise high when it comes to all-star selections.
A week ago, the 2010 Stamps tied the franchise record by earning 13 West Division all-star berths. This week, the current edition of the Red and White has matched their all-time best with eight players on the Canadian Football League’s all-star squad.
The Calgary players honoured in a combined vote of fans, the Football Reporters of Canada and CFL head coaches include four members of the offence — quarterback Henry Burris, receiver Nik Lewis and offensive linemen Dimitri Tsoumpas and Ben Archibald — three player on defence — linebacker Juwan Simpson and cornerbacks Brandon Browner and Dwight Anderson — along with punter Burke Dales.
The eight all-star berths matches Calgary’s total from the previous three years combined.

The only other occasion the Stamps had eight players on the CFL all-star squad was 2000. The honourees that year included quarterback Dave Dickenson, now a member of the Calgary coaching staff, receiver Travis Moore, defensive linemen Joe Fleming and Shont’e Peoples, linebacker Alondra Johnson and defensive backs Marvin Coleman, Eddie Davis and Greg Frers.
As far as this year’s group of honourees is concerned, Browner picked up his third CFL all-star selection, Archibald gets his second while the others are all first-time league all-stars.
Here is the team-by-team breakdown of the 2010 all-star selections:
