We got to experience the rookie initiation Friday, with the veterans getting all the rookie players with cream pies in the face. It was an interesting day, to say the least.
But you know what? This whole season has been unforgettable. It’s been a good deal. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time out here. You can’t put it into words. I’m having a great time.
As far as my knee goes, I’m feeling really good. I’m coming along real well with my treatment and everything. I’ve been out on the field doing some work and progressing each day. I’m very pleased with how I’m coming along and I’ll be ready for the West Final here on the 21st of November.
It’s so difficult to have to sit out when you’re hurt. You have to take every day that you’re out on this football field as a blessing. It’s a great opportunity and you’ve got to take advantage of it every single day. Every day and every practice and every snap that you get, you’ve got to be thankful for it because you never know when it’s going to be over. You really don’t.
While I’ve been out, Stanley Bryant has been playing my position and he did an outstanding job. He stepped in at a moment’s notice and we were able to pick up where we left off and keep on moving forward. We got a win out of Winnipeg, which is always tough and he’s really done an amazing job. I couldn’t be prouder of him and I know the entire line is proud of him as well.
I’ll be watching Sunday’s West semi-final really closely. Both of those teams, Saskatchewan and BC, are very good and no matter who we wind up playing, we’re going to have to be ready for them.
