During this bye week, we just want to shore up some things because defensively because we didn’t play as solidly as we wanted to in the last regular-season game.
The other key for the bye week is to heal up. We’ve got a lot of bumps and bruises, and who doesn’t at this stage of this season? We’re going to look at both of the teams we could be playing in the West final and try to game-plan for both teams.
We had a good little vacation for a few days before returning to practice, but even during the break guys were still around the stadium for treatment and to watch film. We know the coaches never sleep and neither do we. We just have to reap the benefits of getting the bye and just see what we can do.
On our defence, we’ve got a bunch of guys who do their job and take it seriously. We’ve been able to be successful throughout the whole year and to make plays when we’ve had to. We don’t let bad plays get us down. We keep chopping wood and just keep it going.
This is the CFL, so you have to be ready for bad weather. Our final regular-season game was a good test with that wind that we had in Winnipeg. We still were able to get the job done and that shows that we’re mentally strong. You have to be strong to play in the cold weather and we’re ready to do that.
