This feels good.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had this much fun on the football field. I’m with an unbelievable group of guys and I’m going to be smiling for a long time, and I can’t wait to get back on the field.
It’s been a long time waiting for this moment, that’s for sure. I was out for more than a year and it feels so good to be out there again.
I was able to go out there and it felt better on special teams. We were able to put it to them. We came out strong in all three facets and then, just being able to carry the ball again by the end of the game, was the icing on the cake.
When I was out there, I was thinking to myself: “Run hard, don’t stop moving your feet and hit anything that gets in your way.”
As it turns out, there was a pretty solid collision on that first running play. They say it’s important to do that, and it felt really good. I’m not sure who I hit. I saw him take a knee and I hope he’s okay. It was good to get that collision in, to get that out of the system. It was good for my head, for me to go forward.
As for the touchdown, well, I don’t think I’ve ever fallen into the end-zone before. I tripped myself, but I got in.
As soon as I tripped, I was like “Please God, just slide far enough,” and I did, so it was okay.
