This is a really big game. This will help determine how things are going to be towards the end of the season — who’s going to have home-field advantage, first place. The winner of this game is going to have a big edge in locking up those things.
This game is just like the start of the playoffs. This will give all the young guys a taste of that playoff atmosphere.
We’re in first place right now at 10-4 but we know the record could be even better.
Everybody in this locker-room that our four losses came from little things — not hustling, not being in the right gap, not being deep enough. Those are some of the little details that explain why those four losses are up there.
People can question the team all they want to but all that matters right now is in this locker-room and the locker-room is good. The guys know what we have to go out there and do, we know the matchups and we know what it’s going to take to come out there with a victory.
As a defence, we gave up 500-plus yards the last time we played at Saskatchewan. We know we have to clean up the things that we did wrong and we’re confident that we’ve done that. We know we have to execute. We’ve already experienced it and we know what we have to do to avoid a repeat. It was a good lesson for everybody.
We also know from experience that it’s going to be a hostile environment in that stadium. That’s Saskatchewan. Period. Going in there, you’ve got to expect anything. With their fans, you have to expect the unexpected. There’s nothing new there. It’s not like anything that happens will be a surprise.
A loud, rowdy crowd is to be expected and this game is something we’re looking forward to because this is everything. This game will go a long way in determining how things will go the rest of the year.
We have to go out there and execute for 60 minutes and play four strong quarters.
We’ve got to strap up, drop everything and come ready to play because I tell you, it’s going to be a war.
