Insider: Support Stamps stars

The voting is on for the Canadian Football League all-stars and the deserving members of the Calgary Stampeders need your support.

Fans can vote on the division all-stars by visiting the CFL all-stars site. Later, the voting process begins for the league all-stars.

You can vote once a day, so keep coming back to the site to support the players who deserve to be named to the all-star squad.

Excellent Calgary candidates include:

  • Quarterback Henry Burris, who leads the CFL in touchdown throws and is among the top three in every significant passing categoryRambo_100831.jpg
  • Running back Joffrey Reynolds, who is contention for a third consecutive rushing title
  • Ken-Yon Rambo (pictured right), who has the longest reception in the CFL this season and leads the league in receiving yards per game
  • Romby Bryant, who is among the league leaders with nine receiving touchdowns
  • Nik Lewis, who leads the Stamps in receptions and the entire in yards after catch
  • Kicker Rob Maver, who is the thick of a tight battle for the CFL scoring lead
  • Burke Dales, who leads the CFL in punting average
  • Middle linebacker Juwan Simpson, who leads the team in tackles, special-teams tackles and sacks
  • Linebacker Juwan Simpson has three fumble recoveries including one returned for a touchdown
  • Defensive backs Brandon Smith, Brandon Browner and Dwight Anderson are among the interceptions and are part of a unit that has allowed the fewest passing yards in the CFL
  • The Stamps’ stellar offensive line has helped Calgary lead the league in rushing yards and has allowed the second fewest sacks

The Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) and eight CFL head coaches will add their ballots. The combined votes (weighted 75 per cent for the FRC and coaches and 25 per cent for fans) will determine the West Division and East Division all-star teams.
