Franklin: Got to take care of business

It was a bad game on our part last week, but it’s in the past now. We’re still in control of our own destiny, we’ve just got to get back to what we do. If we go out there and play the way we’re supposed to play, we’ll win these games and everything is going to be the way it needs to be.

We can’t change what happened last week. Yes, it’s unfortunate that we played a game like that but it’s out of our system and we’ve just got to move on.Franklin_100928.jpg

On the first day back at practice, the mood was very business-like, which is the way it needs to be. Like I said, we had a rough one last week, but that’s in the past and now we have to take care of business this week.

Sometimes, having a short week after a game like that isn’t such a bad thing because you’re forced to move on. Montreal’s playing well. They’re always a good team and we’ve got to be at our best. To get focused right away is so important.

The Alouettes have been good for a long time and they do what they do so well. They execute and they just march the ball down the field and they don’t make very many mistakes. So when we get an opportunity to make plays, we’ve got to make sure we make those plays.

They’re definitely a good team, but so are we. We believe in ourselves and we’re going to go out there and put our best foot forward and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a very good game and we’re going to come out on top.

If we’re going to do what we’ve set out to do for this year, we’re going to have to beat these tough teams in their house and when they come to ours. We knew that this stretch of the schedule would come, so we’ve just got to get out there and take care of business. That’s the only way I can put it.
