It’s never good to lose, but sometimes a loss brings you back to reality. It reminds you that it is possible for you to lose.
This week, we just went back to the drawing board, adjusted some things. We just know we have to come out and play better. We’ve put in a lot of work in the film room as well as scheme-wise. Now it’s just time to buckle down and go out and do our jobs and limit the yardage.
Last week was completely unacceptable and everyone on our defence is accepting accountability for what happened. We’ve owned up to it, but you’ve also got to have a short memory and move on and make sure you do better the next game.
Last week, we didn’t do everything completely right like we should have been doing. We didn’t play like we should be playing. We went out and competed and we played hard, but they just hit some big plays and the ball went in their favour a lot. A lot of times, we were in position to make the play but the ball bounced their way.
We just have to own up to it and realize that when an opportunity comes up to make plays, we have to buckle down to make the play.
This week, we know that BC is always a good team. They always come ready to play just as we’re always ready to play them. Lately, we’ve been having some success against them, but we don’t take that for granted. We know we have to come out and play a hard-fought game because they’re going to play for 60 minutes.
We have to do our assignments, know our responsibilities and play them hard so that we can come out with a victory.
