Pair of Stamps honoured by CFL

Rambo led all Stamps receivers with nine catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s win over the BC Lions at Vancouver’s Empire Field. The start of Rambo’s 2010 season was delayed as he completed his recovery from a 2009 injury but he has come back strong with 21 catches for 326 yards and four touchdowns in just four games.

Cornish rushed the ball six times for 70 yards and caught two passes for 34 yards in the win over BC. His performance included his third rushing play this season for at least 50 yards. For the year, Cornish has 274 rushing yards on 31 carries (for an 8.8-yard-per-carry average that leads all CFL players with at least 20 rushes) as well as five catches for 73 yards.

Cornish was also named top Canadian in Week 4 of the current season. Calgary’s only other recognition in the weekly honours also came in Week 4 as receiver Romby Bryant was named top offensive player.

The Stampeders received player-of-the-week recognition on seven occasions in 2009.
