First of all, I just want to say I feel pretty good. I thank God for keeping me healthy because there were some pretty big hits out there, but you know, I’m just glad I was able to make the play and help the team win.
I think I managed to keep my senses at all times after that big hit on the touchdown. You know, I felt good — a little winded after the hit but you know, you gotta be tough, right? My dad always told me that, so I as able to brush it off, and get back out there and make some plays, I hope.
If I have to — if I absolutely have to — take a big hit like that to get a touchdown, I’ll do it. Hopefully the others are less painful; that’s what I’m hoping for, but if that’s what has to happen, that’s what has to happen, you know.
What’s nice is that we’re spreading the ball around to everyone. I think we have a great receiving corps and not only that, our running backs, you know. You look at a Rob Cote, for example. He’s a threat out of the backfield. So the more we can dish it out and share the ball, I think the harder we’re going to be to defend. Hopefully we can keep that up.
That was definitely nice to start scoring touchdowns tonight instead of kicking field goals. That was good. And hopefully this is a sign of things to come, because that’s what it’s going to take when we get into October; touchdowns, so we just got to keep it rolling.
Wins are always nice but it’s even better to get a win heading into the bye week. Sometimes you are coming off of a bad game and you got a week to think about it — that’s tough. I’m glad that we put a great, great game together, and it’s going to make the bye week that much better.
Speaking of the bye week, I’m going home. Going to sleep in my own bed, mow my own lawn, and just relax. It’s going to be nice.
