Arthur: This is a great game

I feel good. I feel very, very good. I’m just excited to get out there and make a few plays this weekend.

Everybody knows I spent all of last year sitting and watching from the sidelines because I was injured. When it’s taken away from you for a while, it makes you think and it makes you remember that, “Wow, this is a great game that we play.”

When you finally get the chance to go back out and play, it makes you enjoy the fact that you’re able to do it and you can run out onto the field with the guys. Like I said, I’m just really, really excited for this game.

Not once in the whole time I was out did I ever consider giving up football. Definitely not. I’m still very, very passionate about this game. I still love to play, I still love to be in the locker-room and to hang out with the fellows. I’m just happy to have the opportunity to go back out there and be in front of the fans. This opportunity is exactly why the thought of quitting never crossed my mind.

It’s a little funny that I wind up getting this chance in the place I started my career. I guess you could say it’s a different path that I took, but I’m back where I want to be, to be back where it all started for me.

I remember the last game I played — it was on this field, actually, during the pre-season last year. That was a good one. Now I’m hoping to come out here and gain the respect and trust of my teammates and to pick up where I left off.
