Isaac: It’s a lot of fun here

It’s been an interesting experience so far with all the little funky things the CFL has to offer, like the single points and being able to catch the ball and punt. I found that to be a little different. But it’s also real fun here and it’s relaxing and it’s comfortable. I’m enjoying myself.

I had a few guys on the team who I worked out with who gave me a heads-up on some things but for the most part, I’ve been learning as I go.BIsaac100720.jpg

The trip to Calgary started when Coach Jones had a camp in Tennessee. I worked out there and did well, so he invited me to another camp and I did well there. Then when I got here, I tried to make plays and I played hard, so they kept me.

I played arena football last year and that was a good experience. I had an awesome time. Now I’m here and trying to enjoy my time here, too.

It’s quite a difference in the size of the field from last year to this year. I went from extra-small to extra-large. The field is real big in this league and you’ve got to be ready for it. If you’re not ready, it’s going to be a long day.

There’s a lot to learn but at the same time, when you want to know the game and you study the game, it comes easy. All I have to do is study my position and others’ position just in case somebody gets hurt and I’ve got to make sure that I’m ready. I study it and that knowledge transfers over to the game.

The whole secondary has been a help to me. Everybody gives their little pointers and I take it all in. I try to soak everything up so that when I’m called, I’m ready. It’s like the last game — Milt went down and I had to play every snap. I think I played fast and I played hard. It was a good learning experience and hopefully I continue to get better and better.

I was able to get a sack in that game. I diagnosed the situation and I was able to make the play.

As a team, I feel we’re in a great position. Unfortunately, we did lose our last game but it gives us an opportunity to learn from our mistakes. We know we can get beat if we’re not at the top of our game. Every game counts, every play counts, so we’ve got to go hard on every play.
