Well, it’s come down to this.
It’s a one-game, winner-takes-all showdown today at Mosaic Stadium as the Calgary Stampeders take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2009 regular-season finale. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. MST. On the line today are first place in the West Division and a bye to the West Final. The loser still gets a home playoff date — the West Semi-Final with the Edmonton Eskimos providing the opposition.
Calgary currently leads the division with a 10-6-1 record and the Stamps need a win or a tie to stay ahead of the Riders, who are 9-7-1 at the start of the day.
It’s been a dramatic season series so far between the rivals as a single point separated the clubs in the first two meetings. The last matchup resulted in a 44-44 draw that was one of the most entertaining games of the 2009 CFL season.
We’re happy to debut a brand new feature for today’s big game — you can join us and your fellow Red and White fans for a live chat. The chat will begin half an hour before kickoff (at 4:30 p.m. MST) and remain live until an hour or so after the contest.
